To qualify to participate in any specialty class, riders must have attended and shown in at least 2 Palm Beach Posse shows for the current show year prior to the event, entered horses must have shown in at least one Palm Beach Posse show for the current show year prior to the event.

$500 Equitation Challenge

Entry Fee: $35

Open to junior/amateur riders. To be show at either 2’, 2’3” or 2’6”.

Height must be indicated on the horse show entry form.

Three Phase format.

Phase ONE shall consist of a traditional equitation jump course of at least 8 fences, including change of direction and trot jump.

Phase TWO shall be a flat phase that may include tests such as riding without stirrups and other tests at the judge’s discretion
Phase THREE The judge may ask the top 2-4 riders to do additional tests.

All jumps will be available for schooling Saturday and Sunday

May be shown in English, Dressage, Western or Ranch style. Class shall be a pattern consisting of various maneuvers including walk, trot/jog, canter/lope, hand gallop/extended lope, leg yields and going over obstacles such as poles. Exhibitors are encouraged to display their horses’ movement, expression, and attitude. The versatility challenge class is not about equitation; instead, it emphasizes rhythm and the overall presentation of the horse. Judging focuses on smooth transitions and control.

All Specialty Classes

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st-8th place.

Prize money will be distributed as follows

1st 30% 2nd 25% 3rd 20%,	4th 15% 5th 5% 6th 5%
